Travel

TRAVELING

Free Parking - Daily Parking at the Breakers is FREE. Please park on Ocean Avenue along the beach.

Pumping Gas - NJ is the only state in the US that it is against the law to pump your own gas. All gas stations are full service so please wait in your car until an attendant approach you there is no need to tip your attendants.

Stay Safe - If you happen to get lost, GET OFF THE ROAD and pull into a parking lot away from traffic where you can regroup. Don’t try to find your way while you are driving!

U-Turns & Left Turns - Please be aware of New Jersey driving laws: U-Turns are only permitted where indicated, usually directing you through a jug-handle to do so. The same goes for making left turns at traffic lights. Please pay attention to the signs at intersections. There may be a “Left Turn Only” lane or you may be directed to a jug-handle.

No Cell Phone Use While Driving - It’s against the law to use any hand-held/cellular device while driving in the state of New Jersey. Many New Jersey traffic lights are equipped with cameras.

EZ Pass & Tolls - The NJ Turnpike & the Garden State Parkway are both toll roads. Depending on which airport you arrive at, you will be traveling on one, if not both, of these roads. You may want to have some cash on hand for the tolls if you did not rent a car with EZpass.

Weather
Check the weather report before you all arrive and plan accordingly. In addition, you may want to bring a light sweater or sweatshirt as the ‘classroom ‘is kept at 68-70 degrees. Your sweater, vest, or covering should be business-appropriate, clean, and plain. NO HOODIES PERMITTED.

Restaurants Splitting the Bill
We have been informed from past classes that attendees have had issues at local restaurants with “splitting the bill”. Please be mindful of this while dining with a group. It is recommended you ask your waiter or waitress before you order to see if they can separate the checks.
